Planet Ida
*Do Not look up directions on Mapquest! They are Wrong Wrong Wrong!!!
***Please be your kindest on your way here. Ida is in a rural area of tight-knit communities. Accordingly, our neighbors and the Sheriff tend to take notice. We do our best to be kind to the people we share middle Tennessee with, and you should too. All roads that lead here have speed traps, so watch the speed limit. If you head to town or need to stop for directions, please be on your best behavior and do call us first. Thank you!
Note: please take our phone number with you (615-597-4409).
Take I-75 North to Chattanooga, then I-24 West. Take Exit 110 (Hwy 53 North) and take a right. Drive on for about 24 miles. Turn right onto 281 East. Go to the first stop sign at 70S. Continue forward on 281 until it dead ends. Take a left onto 146 North. Follow this road about 5 miles. You will pass the Short Mountain Store on your left and about a mile later you will see a fork to your left. You will see two hand painted signs which read "Mt. Moriah...The Baptist Church" and "Church of Christ at Mt. Ararat" (look carefully for them—they are small signs!). This is Pea Ridge Road(but there is no street name sign). Turn left. (If you get to a sign that says Dekalb County, then you have missed the turn by about a mile)
Pea Ridge Road will fork in less than a mile—bear right. Follow it 8 miles until it descends into a valley and crosses a small bridge. Immediately after the bridge, turn right onto a gravel road(Cave Hollow Rd.). Go about 100 feet and take your first right(Vickers Hollow Rd.). Cross a little bridge and contine along an even worse gravel road for about a mile. Go SLOWLY (10-15 mph) if you value your axle. Cross over the usually dry creek bed (go even slower!) and you'll find us at the other side.

Take I-40 West towards Nashville. Take exit 273 (Hwy 56 South don't take the earlier exit that goes North) towards Smithville. Go 13.7 miles until you reach Smithville's main intersection (there's a Hardee's, and gas stations). Go right onto Hwy 70 West aka Broad st. Go 1.2 miles and take a left onto Dry Creek rd(at the Chevron station). The road goes a short way, turns right and comes to a stop sign at a ‘T’. Turn left. At the next stop sign, go forward. Go 2.8 miles and then bear left onto Dry Creek rd (yep, there are several dry creek roads…). Go 0.1 miles and then go forward onto the gravel road in front of you. DO NOT GO OVER THE FIRST BRIDGE YOU SEE!!!!! Go another 0.1 miles and THEN go over a bridge and follow this road (Please go slow on this one lane dirt road) for 1 mile. You will cross a (usually) dry creek bed (Go really slow) and find yourself in our parking area.

* ONCE YOU’VE FOUND DRY CREEK ROAD
|
* ONCE YOU’VE FOUND DRY CREEK ROAD, continue on about 4.7 miles. Watch your speed on this winding road. After about 4.7 miles you will have the choice of continuing forward onto a gravel road or taking a sharp right over a bridge. Go forward onto the gravel road. If the sign is up, it is called Cave Hollow Road. Go about 100 feet on Cave Hollow Road and take your first right over a little bridge (this will put you onto Vickers Hollow Road, again, there may or may not be a sign up), and then an immediate left after the bridge and continue along an even worse dirt road. Go slowly (10-15 mph) if you value your axle. At the end of this road (in slightly less than a mile), cross over the (usually) dry creek bed (go even slower!) and you'll find us at the other side.
